the license term.

support as well as product and version upgrades.
License Types

An annual license for a desktop computer is available for faculty or staff purchased by their department. Students may also purchase an annual license. A desktop computer is defined as a single user Windows, Linux or Macintosh computers with one or two processors.
Server
Annual licenses for SAS EAS are available. Server pricing is dependent upon the number of server CPUs. Server licenses are available for department purchases only.
Obtaining Software
After you have purchased a license for SAS through TSW, you will receive an e-mail with confirmation of your purchase and instructions on how to either borrow, download or purchase a DVD to install the SAS software bundle.
License Key
A license key, called a SID or setinit, must be applied each year. A SID will be provided to each customer after receipt of payment and, for students, a signed Home Use Agreement. Use of an expired license is a violation of the license agreement. The SID or setinit typically allows for a short grace period after renewal. New installations cannot generally be done after the setinit expiration date of July 1.

Notes on Installing Files
Files with names ending in .ISO/.IMG (Windows/Mac/UNIX/Linux) or .DMG (Mac)
These are exact images of physical DVD or CD disks. You can re-create the physical disks exactly as shipped by SAS. Windows computers need to use a disk burning program such as Roxio Creator, Nero or similar to re-create DVD or CD disks from images. Linux/UNIX users have a bevy of ISO burning tools like MagicISO, cdrecord etc.
Files with names ending in .zip
These are compressed archives of one or more files. Windows XP/Vista/2003/2008 users can right click on the file and use the extract all function to re-create the folder or file contained in the zip archive. Mac users can double click these to de-compress the archive. Windows users should NOT attempt to install directly from the zip archive, even if you can explore in it, as the install most often will fail.
